Rumors : 12/14/09
Alexander Ovechkin has been pursued quite quickly by a squad in Russia. Has been given a big money offer, and he's very interested by it.
Sidney Crosby has been given a long-term offer from the American division, with a solid salary to go along with it.
Steve Mason is quite close to putting pen to paper. Likely somewhere in Canada.
Evgeni Malkin has been offered a pair of long-term deals. One from the Russian Division and another from the Canadian. Both interest him greatly.
Jonathan Toews has been offered a long-term contract. He may be close to signing.
Marian Gaborik has been offered a franchise tag somewhere in the USA. He's greatly turned on by the offer given.
Steven Stamkos is in talks with a team from the Canadian Division. He likes the idea of playing in Canada.
Jerome Iginla is also in talks with a Canadian team. A long term deal, however he's not sure about the amount of $ he's been offered.
Rick Nash is talking w/ a few teams at the moment. Not a clear winner.
Phil Kessel is close to signing in Sweden. Unless a much better offer comes in, he'll probably be playing there for the next 6 years.
Niklas Backstrom (the forward) was likely to sign in his home country of Sweden with a long-term deal. However, a huge offer has been made from a team in Canada. Certainly making Backy consider all options.
Mike Richards has been offered a long-term franchise tag. However, Mike isn't overly pleased with the amount of money offered. Negotiations have now fell through..
Pavel Datsyuk has been offered a good deal from his mother country of Russia. It's likely he'll put pen to paper there.
Anze Kopitar has been approached with a solid offer. He's interested.
Zach Parise has been offered a nice looking contract with a team in his home country of the United States. Unless a better offer comes along, he'll likely be playing at home. 2 more teams have made offers, however they're not quite up to par. Parise seems to be quite the hot commodity.
Ryan Getzlaf has been approached by a team in the Canadian Division. A very generous offered indeed. It makes him want to back-hand toe drag with glee.
Eric Staal has been approached with an offer from an American squad. He'll likely end up there if no other offers arise.
Shea Weber will likely be finding a home very soon. He's received a very generous offer.
Mike Green is basically ready to scribble on a dotted line in Sweden.
Ilya Kovalchuk is in talks with a squad in the Continental Division. Things are gettin' pretty serious between the 2 sides.
More to come when available..
