As a manager in the IIHA, you are expected to actively participate as often as possible, with the ideal manager checking both the forum and the portal on a daily basis.
It is 2010, which means that you should be touch with your email several times per day, and as such, it stands as the optimal means of communication between managers.
The forum is also an alternative, and personal messages can be sent between managers as well. The same can be said of the portal, where managers can message each other.
Instant messaging applications such as MSN or AIM, etc. are very popular as well, and offer a means to receive instant feedback.
And more recently, Google Wave has proven more than effective as a means of immediate feedback.
Feel free to use whatever you please, however be sure to ALWAYS check the forum and the portal.
The league will occasionally send out update emails as well; don't worry, your inbox will not be flooded.
------------------------------------
As far as uploading lines are concerned, you will be much better off uploading them between games, as injuries and suspensions play just as large a role in the sim as they do in actual hockey. Obviously trades have a great effect on lines as well, and if you do not put a new player in your line-up, they will not play many, if any, minutes. Note that you can upload lines for ten games in advance within the client; a feature that everyone should take advantage of to assure line-up accuracy.
------------------------------------
In the event that a manager is deemed inactive by the Executive Committee, he will be promptly fired, and a replacement will be found as quickly as possible. In cases where a replacement is not found immediately, Hansel will act in the interim to maintain the club, and he holds the right to re-sign players, but not trade them or sign new players. Upon the discovery of a suitable manager, Hansel will graciously step aside.
