The salary cap covers only the professional payroll, that is to say that your farm team salaries do not count against it, and will not impact your finances. The payroll of your coach however does count against the cap.
Teams may not exceed the cap at any time, and doing so will result in punishment. If a team is over the cap for four consecutive days, they will forfeit a fifth round pick on the fifth day. For every two days following, the pick will increase, however they will not accumulate. This is to say that on the seventh day (Hansel rested) a fourth, and only a fourth, round pick will be forfeited. After fifteen days, the player whose salary is nearest to the surplus, while being equal to or greater than said surplus, will be placed on waivers regardless of their talent or promise. In the case where two players have the same salary, the older player will be waived. The first round pick will be forfeited additionally.
The maximum salary (per season) for any player is $10 000 000; the minimum is $500 000.
In the case where a team does indeed exceed the cap, they will be notified immediately be a member of the Executive Committee, and are expected to act accordingly.
Also note that the client will not allow you to save your lines if you exceed the cap.
Injured and suspended players do not count towards the salary cap, nor do the aforementioned players on farm squads.
